๐ฅณ ๐ HSC Results 2024 ๐ ๐ Today we celebrated the 2024 HSC success, inviting our Year 12's and Year 10 and 11 accelerated students to a BBQ breakfast to celebrate their HSC results! Congratulations to the following students for their individual achievements: ๐ Jac Edmonds-Brown, our 2024 College Dux with an outstanding ATAR of 99.65. ๐ฅ Julia Milovanovic 2nd Place in the state in Agriculture ๐ Jac Edmonds-Brown All Round Achiever (highest possible band in 10 or more units). ๐ Damon Buchanan All Round Achiever (highest possible band in 10 or more units). ๐จ Jac Edmonds-Brown Art Express Inclusion ๐จ Sam Polifroni Art Express Incursion ๐ Tamsyn Brown Dance Callback Core Composition (Reserve List) ๐ Oliver Vujnovich Dance Callback Major Study Performance (Reserve List) School Achievements: ๐ 8 students with an ATAR over 90 ๐ 31 students with an ATAR over 80. ๐ 72 Marian students were recognised as Distinguished Achievers' with Band 6's (mark over 90) in 25 subjects of Agriculture, Biology, Business Studies, Community and Family Studies, Dance, Design and Technology, English Advanced, English Extension 1, Geography, Industrial Technology, Investigating Science, Korean Continuers, Legal Studies, Mathematics Extension 1, Mathematics Extension 2, Mathematics Advanced, Mathematics Standard 2, Modern History, Music 1, PDHPE, Software Design and Development, Studies of Religion I, Studies of Religion II, Visual Arts, VET Hospitality. ๐ซ 20 nominations for possible inclusion for Callback (Dance), Encore (Music) Shape (Industrial Technology and Design and Technology), and Art Express. We are so proud of all our Marian Graduates, their individual and collective efforts and growth, whilst they have continued to Walk with Christ, on their journeys of personal excellence. Many graduates have already received multiple offers of places in universities to continue their studies in 2025, while others have commenced vocational and other training pathways.

Congratulations to all the outstanding students who received awards last week at our Co-Curricular and End of Year Presentation Day Ceremonies! It was a great opportunity for the college to celebrate our student's achievements throughout the year and to recognise both their co-curricular achievements and also their hard work, dedication, academic excellence and outstanding application to their studies. Congratulations to all!! ๐๐๐ Our final assembly of the year had us singing loud with Christmas Cheer at our annual Christmas Carol Singing Competition, and the week also saw us celebrate as a Marian community to give thanks for another year of learning and growth at our end of year Christmas Mass. We wish the Marian community a safe and blessed Christmas and New Year.

In the final weeks of term, our Year 10 students have been engaged in a specially designed program aimed at equipping them with diverse skills and experiences to support their transition into Stage 6 studies or the workforce. The 'Spark Program' allows students to participate in a two-day service-learning experience within the local community, such as volunteering at schools or retirement homes. This initiative fosters empathy, interpersonal skills, and social responsibility in line with Catholic traditions. The 'Skills for Living' week focuses on identifying and nurturing studentsโ strengths while building essential life skills. Through workshops such as the Galmatic Car Maintenance Mastery and RYDA Road Safety Education, students will enhance their self-confidence, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities to support both personal and academic growth. Finally, during 'Xplor' Weeks, students transitioning to Stage 6 in 2025 have been exploring their chosen Year 11 subjects. This hands-on experience, led by subject teachers, provides valuable insights into their courses, helping them set informed goals and easing the transition into senior studies. Well done, Year 10, for your outstanding enthusiasm and positive attitudes toward these important activities!

Students from Pure Harmony and Year 9 Dance brought Christmas cheer to the residents of Bupa Aged Care in Dural, singing carols and sharing some unforgettable moments. The experience was filled with stories of resilience, joy, and the power of music. Residents joined in, danced, and shared their hidden talentsโlike Shirley, who amazed everyone with her beautiful piano playing from memory. One student reflected, โIt reminded me that with every moment we have left with our grandparents or any older people we know, we should shower them with kindness and give them opportunities to do what they love.โ Another shared, โSeeing their smiles and hearing their stories was something Iโll never forgetโit reminded me how important music and connection are in our lives.โ The visit reminded us all of the importance of connection, cherishing our elders, and celebrating the gift of music and dance. ๐งก
