During Term 1, a group of Marian girls had the incredible opportunity to be coached each week by Paige Hadley, current NSW Swifts captain and Australian Diamonds player. Under Paige’s guidance, the girls developed new skills, grew in confidence, and deepened their understanding of the game. With heavy hearts and deep gratitude, we mourn the passing of Pope Francis. A humble servant, a champion for the poor, and a beacon of compassion, Pope Francis called us to be a Church of action—one that brings healing, hope, and love to the marginalised. “Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace.” As we mourn his loss, we hold firm to the hope of Christ’s resurrection: “May the angels lead him into paradise, and may the saints welcome him in glory.” We ask you to keep Pope Francis and the global Church in your prayers. 🙏

Today we say a heartfelt goodbye to Father Adam as he finishes his time as Assistant Parish Priest at St Madeleine’s Parish and prepares to begin a new chapter at St Monica’s in Richmond. Over the past two and a half years, Father Adam has become a cherished member of the Marian community—his kindness, humility and passion for faith have touched every one of us. From school visits and retreats to Lifted Sports days, his joyful spirit and Christ-like example have reminded us of the power of presence, friendship, and selflessness. Whether writing affirmations for every Year 12 student or cheering us on during soccer games, Father Adam has led with love and compassion. Thank you, Father Adam, for helping us grow in faith and community. You’ll be deeply missed—not just as a priest, but as a true friend. We wish you all the best at St Monica’s!

🎓✨Congratulations to Leila and Brianna on their recent graduation from the SUIT program at ACU Strathfield! Their participation in the SUIT program has brought them one step closer to joining the teaching profession, and we couldn’t be prouder of their journey so far. The Step Up Into Teaching (SUIT) program offers high school students a valuable opportunity to explore the teaching profession through hands-on experiences, university engagement, and mentorship. It’s designed to inspire and support the next generation of educators — and Leila and Brianna have embraced this path with enthusiasm and commitment. Well done, future educators! 🌟📚

Today we gathered as a school community to commemorate ANZAC Day and remember the sacrifice of those who have served - and are serving - to preserve the freedoms we enjoy today. Our ANZAC prayer reminded us that in this Jubilee Year, we are called to be Pilgrims of Hope — people who carry light into the darkness, peace into conflict, and compassion into a world in need. We pray that the spirit of the ANZACs — their courage, mateship, and resilience — inspire us to live with hope, even in challenging times, and to walk together with open hearts, as people of justice and mercy. May we learn from the sacrifices of those who came before us, and honour them not just in words, but in how we live. Thank you to our Year 11 Modern History students who spoke at this special assembly today. Lest We Forget.

Today we pause to commemorate ANZAC Day. We give thanks and remember the courage, sacrifice, and service of all those who have served, and those who continue to serve for the freedoms we hold dear. They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them. Lest we forget.
